Da Capo
Da Capo,
Da Capo,
The Story of Da Capo
Music Begins as a Conversation
When Chun-Hsin Lee founded Da Capo in 2013, her vision extended beyond performance—she sought to use music as a way to foster deeper human connections. Chamber music had always been her passion—an art form without a conductor, where musicians must actively listen, respond, and adapt, building trust to create a shared musical dialogue.
However, in Taiwan’s music education system, students often focus intensely on technical proficiency, yet rarely experience the essence of collaborative music-making. She began to wonder: Could music education go beyond traditional frameworks, making performance not just an individual showcase, but a true conversation with the world?
And so, Da Capo was born.
What began as a small chamber ensemble gradually expanded into a platform for innovative concerts, collaborations with international musicians, and immersive music education programs. Da Capo evolved from a performance group into a dynamic force for change—one that explores how music can transform individuals, redefine learning, and bring art into a broader cultural space.
From Chamber Music to a Broader Stage
In 2020, Da Capo took a significant step forward by launching the Da Capo Chamber Music Camp, a space not only for music education but also for deep artistic exchange and personal growth.
We witnessed a profound transformation in our participants. As they began to truly listen to one another, collaborate, and discover their own voices within the music, their understanding, expression, and artistry took on new dimensions. They were no longer just playing notes—they were realizing that the true value of music lies in shared creation and connection.
This realization led Da Capo to an even greater awareness: what we can achieve through music goes far beyond what we ever imagined.
Da Capo : Taking Music Further
Today, Da Capo is no longer just a chamber ensemble or a music camp. It has grown into a performing arts platform that integrates music, education, and cultural exchange.
Through music, we invite people to rethink: Music is not just an individual expression—it is about listening and interaction. Music is not just a technical skill—it is a way to develop thought, collaboration, and creativity.
Music does not belong only on the stage—it can reach communities, schools, and cross-cultural dialogues.
This is the vision we are striving toward—to make music a bridge for communication and art a means of engaging with the world.
Da Capo : Beginning with music, continuously exploring, and always starting anew.
